Lawn Care

Summer

During Summer the provision of sufficient water is essential to retain a nice green lawn. However, nightly sprinkling can often be more damaging that not applying any water at all. A good soaking twice or three times a week during hot spells will get the water deep down to the roots where it is needed.

Of course the installation of an effective sprinkler system will pay dividends in the long run. With the aid of a timer it can be left on for a required amount of tome and with the more sophisticated types of controllers can be left to do the watering while the house owner is away.

Keep cutters high when mowing lawns in Summer to avoid the presence of bare patches which will allow weeds to germinate.
