Established in 1979, we are a group of friendly, like-minded people who meet monthly to discuss, learn, show and compare all things gardening. We welcome anyone who shares our interest.
We meet at the Senior Citizens Centre, Mason Street, Warragul on the 4th Monday of each month (except December or when public holidays clash).
Doors open 9am and meeting commences at 9.30am.
We have a monthly “Show Bench” for which exhibits must be placed for judging prior to 9.30am. Flower stewards assist with placing of exhibits as required. Points are awarded to the winners of each section on the show bench, totalled at the end of the year and prizes awarded to winners of the categories and the most successful exhibitor overall.
We enjoy a tea, coffee, biscuits and a chat at our meetings and with regular guest speakers talking on a wide range of topics and the combined knowledge members have, any garden problems or plant identification can usually be answered.
Each month we have a stall where members can sell excess produce from their garden. 10% of proceeds benefit the club. There are lucky door prizes each meeting of plants donated by Home Timber & Hardware, Drouin.
Wheelchairs & walkers available for use. (Purchased by a grant from Baw Baw Shire.)
Periodically, bus trips to places of interest are organised (subject to sufficient numbers).
Membership is open for anyone with an interest in Gardening. Annual membership costs the small sum of $20 (which also provides for insurance and discounted pricing for our organised trips), plus a $10 joining fee to cover the cost of a badge etc.
At each monthly meeting we have a $2 entry fee, for which members receive a raffle ticket toward a door prize.
To Join, simply come along to the next meeting (see Meetings Page) or ring Judy our Secretary on 5623 6180 or 0427 236 180
