Lawn Care

Autumn

March and April are usually the best months to prepare a new lawn or repair old ones. With the soil temperature still warm, new seed will quickly germinate (5-7 days), provided water is available to keep the whole area moist. The same is true for new lawns established using turf as new roots will be produced quickly.

In the case of both the use of pre-emergent fertiliser, specially formulated for the purpose will pay dividends, getting the grass well established through winter and ready to withstand the heat of its first summer.

Any lawn weeder applications should be completed before sowing any new seed.
