Lawn Care in Summer
A second dose of fertiliser should have been given in November so that the grass has become deep rooted before hot summer weather. Control weeds with a broad leaf lawn weeder. Check sprinkler systems because summer is the time when water will, on occasions, will need to be applied. Ants often colonise them during the winter months. Give lawns a good soaking once or twice a week rather than a daily sprinkle.
Lawns looking pale and in poor condition can be rejuvenated by using ‘Sudden Impact for Lawns’ which contain both short and long-term fertiliser.
Mow regularly but do not scalp the grass as this can cause drying out and later bare areas. Weeds actively colonise areas that have no grass cover. Mow in different directions each time.
